Subject: Lebanese in Costa Rica
Message: Hi, my name is Farid Beirute, sorry about my English but we talk Spanish. The grandfather of my father came from Lebanon around 1910, his name was Miguel Wesen Beirute and his first wife Juana Saife, both came to Costa Rica with some relatives, Miguel´s Brothers Jose, Benjamin and Pedro. When Juana died, Miguel returned to Lebanon and take as his second wife his cousin Alicia Beirute. Other relatives were Baleilla Beirute and her sister Mansura, and Mansura´s husband Miguel Asis. All of them died in Costa Rica
In my family we always thought that our last name was sbaija or something like that, and in Costa Rica Miguel write our new last name "Beirute". With your wed site, I discovered that in Kartaba their is families like Beyrouty, Azis and Karam. Some of the parents of these families came to Costa Rica, like Miguel Beyrouty (maybe this is my real last name), son of Wesen and Nura both Beirute, like Pedro Azis (the correct form of write this last name)
I don't know if you can help me find some people of my family that still leaving in Kartaba, and if you bring me information about Kartaba
Also I have an answer, there is a town in Lebanon call Arteba or Artaba?

Message: My name is Jose de Jesus Galindo Rujana
I am grand son of Mr. Joseph Rouhana who , I believe changed his last name for Rujana because the people in Mexico could not pronounce it well.
He came to Mexico around 1910 and married a Mexican woman named Rosa Ruelas, they had four Children; one of them my mther Maria Dolores Rujana Ruelas
I also know he had a brother that was refer to us by may Mother and My uncles as Salim or Salom he also cam to Mexico once he knew my Grand father died.I happen to be in Germany in 1980 and knew a Lebanese Teacher (Mr Ishac Badaoui) who told me that may Last name was Rouhana and not Rujana, and at that time there was a deputy at the Lebanon Parliament named Emil Roujana Sakr I see one of your members holds these Name Mr. Youssef Rouhana Sakr.
Also we remember the las contact with some one of may family many years ago, his name was Eid Salim Roujana Abdel Zetter, a that time he was an official of the police of Zahale.
With all of this maybe some one knows some of may family so I can get in touch with them.
